It is made from a sturdy gauge sheet metal.The reason for buying it was that it has open sides, and because of it size. I was positively surprised of the fast processing and shipping. I was a little surprised to find it was painted in grey hammered paint instead of a standard grey.  I have a suggestion on the mounting holes. It is very difficult to install screws in the bottom holes. I would suggest to make the bottom holes slotted, and the top ones round. Outside paint looked great, the inside had some paint runners on the inside bottom section.
